Cushing Anderson
Program Vice President, Project-Based Services
Cushing Anderson is Program Vice President for IDC's Project-Based Services research. In this role, Mr. Anderson is responsible for managing the research agenda, field research, and custom research projects for IDC's Consulting, System Integration, Human Resources and Learning research programs.
Mr. Anderson has been actively investigating the link between strategic business planning and training in the extended enterprise. He has also extensively researched the value of partner certification programs to software companies, and speaks regularly on certification programs and the value of education to partnership programs.
Mr. Anderson speaks on a variety of topics including elearning, extended enterprise learning, certification and employee performance improvement. He was named as one of the "Top 20 people to watch in corporate training, 2003" by Lifelong Learning Market Report. He has been on the editorial advisory board of the industry magazines "eLearning" and "CLO - Chief Learning Officer" and has been on the steering committee for the Technology Learning Group for the industry association CompTIA. Mr. Anderson also co-authored IDC's best selling bulletin in 2000 predicting the rise and challenges facing the corporate elearning market.
Before rejoining the Learning Services research program, Mr. Anderson was a research director in IDC's Software Business Strategies group, and was responsible for managing the Partnering, Alliances and Licensing research services and IDC's Software Alliance Executive Council. Mr. Anderson worked with Software Business Strategy clients to identify key business challenges and opportunities and to uncover the impact of alliance relationships to improve a company's go-to-market success.
Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Anderson worked as a consultant for the Center for Educational Leadership and Technology (CELT, Corp.). Mr. Anderson was responsible for evaluating and developing strategic curriculum and technology plans, as well as professional development and personnel evaluation programs for public school districts nationwide. Mr. Anderson also worked as a technology and management consultant with Coopers & Lybrand LLP, providing technology analysis, planning and benchmarking services to businesses in a variety of industries. Mr. Anderson was also a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy where he coordinated ocean-going transportation during the first Gulf War.
Mr. Anderson received a bachelor's degree in Government from Connecticut College and earned his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College's Graduate School of Education.
